Bristol has a strong Mayor form of government with three Council districts that consist of two elected City Council members each. Currently, the Mayor and four of the six City Councilors are Democrats.

The Democratic Town Committee is comprised of 60 registered Democrats - six members for each of the city's ten voting precincts - that work to recruit candidates and volunteers, and raise money to successfully elect Democrats to office. The committee meets monthly and welcomes attendance by those individuals who would like more information or want to help the Party.

Monthly Town Committee Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at Bristol City Hall in the Council Chambers.
