MAYOR
ART WARD
Mayor Art Ward was re-elected to his seventh term on the City Council in 2005. Art Ward is a Bristol native and B.E.H.S. graduate, with course work completed at Tunxis Community College. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966-1969, earning a Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.
Art Ward is Past Commander of the Bristol American Legion, Post #2, Life Member Bristol (DAV) Disabled American Veterans, Chapter #5 and Wolcott (VFW) Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #1979, member of Bristol (PLAV) Polish Legion of American Veterans Post #5 and Bristol Lodge of Elks #1010. Prior to his election to the City Council in 1993, he served as Chairperson of the Bristol Zoning Board of Appeals.
Mayor Ward has served on several committees during his political career including: Chairperson of the Budget Committee for Bristol Dept. of Public Works, Chairperson of the Veterans Committee of City Council, Chair of the Salary and Real Estate Committees of the City Council, Member of Ordinance Committee, Sewer Committee, Miscellaneous Matters Committee, Building Committee, 5 Year Capital Improvement Committee, and a Liaison to the Bristol Water Department. On June 10, 2003 Mayor Ward was awarded a Life Membership by the Bristol American Legion.
Mayor Ward also served as chairman of the 75th Commemoration Committee for Memorial Boulevard; and as Chairperson for visit of the Viet Nam "Moving Wall" project, and was a member of the Memorial Boulevard "Brick Walkway" project Committee.
Mayor Ward cites as his accomplishments the resurrection of the Bristol Grants Administrator position; his work initiating the Salt Dome concept for salt/sand storage; the revised Public Works budget process and conceived the plans for the Public Works equipment inventory control; oversaw the Public Works Department reorganization project; and, brought in the new Automated Refuse equipment program and implemented the yard waste project.
Mayor Ward is married to the former Patricia Cassina, with whom he has three children. He is also the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren. He is currently employed as a Veteran Service Officer (VSO) with the State of Connecticut's Department of Veterans' Affairs.

CLIFFORD P. BLOCK
Cliff Block is a lifelong Bristol resident, graduating as a member of the Class of 1968 at Bristol Eastern High School. He then continued his education at E.C. Goodwin Technical School where he completed his studies in the Culinary Arts Program in 1970.
Cliff has worked in the Food Service and Hospitality industry selling food service equipment for over 34 years in the New England area. Presently, he is employed for the world’s second largest manufacturer of commercial, refrigerated food service equipment and is responsible for covering Connecticut, Western Massachusetts and Vermont, which gives him a fantastic opportunity to observe how other cities and towns are revitalizing their downtowns and dealing with various public policy issues.
Among his community activities, Cliff was a coach in the Forestville Little League as well as assisting with the Bristol Traveling Basketball Team. He is a member of the Bristol Historical Society, and also the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Bristol Lodge #1010 where he served as Trustee for six years and as Chaplain for one year. In 2006 Cliff was appointed to the Zoning Commission as an alternate, and has since has become a regular voting commissioner.
As a member of the Zoning Commission, Cliff has played a role in the development of the new downtown zoning regulations that will be part of the blueprint for its future development.
Cliff has been happily married to Bristol native Ann Villano for 35 years. They have a son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Jennifer Block and two beautiful grandchildren, two-year-old granddaughter, Bria, and a new grandson born on Mothers Day, Elijah.

KEVIN McCAULEY
Kevin McCauley has been a Bristol resident all his life, graduating from Bristol Eastern High School in 1980. After graduation he enlisted in the Marine Corps, serving until he was honorably discharged in 1985. He has been a firefighter for 20 years, 19 of which have been with the Bristol Fire Department.
Kevin is married to Jackie Velasco McCauley and has three stepchildren, Tyler, Joseph and Brooke Miselis along with his four-legged companions, Bo & Abby. He and Jackie are active members of the First Congregational Church where Kevin has served on the Music & Stewardship Committees and is a member of the church choir. Some of his hobbies include hiking, mountain biking, skiing & snowboarding, golf and motorcycling with his wife.
Active in the community, Kevin is a member of the Bristol Theatre Arts and has served as Treasurer of the group and frequently performs in their theatrical productions. He was also instrumental in the group obtaining their non-profit status. Kevin also serves as a board member on the board of directors for the New England Carousel Museum and serves as the fire department liaison to the Museum of Fire History.
Kevin has been very active with the Bristol Boys & Girls Club as an active member of the Older Members Association. He has participated in the annual O.M. Show for the last 27 years. He is a member of the Bristol Federal Hill Association, the Bristol Historical Society and The Bristol Auto Club.
In his first term as a City Councilor, Kevin’s political appointments include commissioner to the Public Works Board, the Real Estate Committee and the Veterans Committee. He serves as council liaison to the Bristol-Burlington Health District, the Bristol Housing Authority and he co-chairs the Roberts Property and Code Enforcement Committees. Kevin is an active participant in a number of sub-committees involving the essential functions of city services including streets and sewer issues and is regularly called upon to assist in the interview and hiring process of major projects.
Kevin is proud to have contributed to many positive initiatives involving code enforcement and returning city-owned land to the tax rolls through the Real Estate Committee. He is also a member of the Claims Committee, whose purpose is to evaluate claims by citizens for damage incurred to their property caused by action or lack of action by a city entity.
Kevin looks forward to the continued progress in these areas and is excited at the prospect of honorably serving District 2 and the City another two years.

- COUNCILMAN CRAIG MINOR
Craig Melander Minor was originally elected to the Bristol City Council in November 2003 and re-elected in 2005. His Council duties currently include liaison to the Board of Education, the Mayor’s Task Force on HIV/AIDS, and the Disabilities Commission, and he is a voting member of the Bristol Development Authority, Transportation Commission, Bristol Downtown Development Corporation, Boulevard School Theater Committee, and the Council Matters Committee. He is co-chair of the Tourism, Entertainment, Arts and Museums (TEAM) Committee.
Craig was born in Summit, NJ on May 26, 1954 and moved with his family to Connecticut in 1971. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Urban Development from the University of Connecticut in 1980 and a Master of Arts degree in Urban and Regional Development from UCLA in 1982. Since 1989 he has been the Town Planner for the Town of Cromwell where he is responsible for all aspects of land use development including subdivision and commercial site plan review, open space preservation, environmental protection, and community development. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and is a member and past chairman of the Legislative Committee of the Connecticut Chapter American Planning Association.
In addition to his City Council duties, Craig is President of the Greater Bristol Realty Corporation (a non-profit housing development corporation working with Habitat for Humanity to create first-time homeownership opportunities in Bristol), an active member of Bristol Theatre Arts and the Pequabuck River Watershed Association, and is the founder of the "Slice of Bristol" project (which sends packages of local items to Bristol military personnel serving in Iraq and Afghanistan) and the Bristol Multicultural Connection.
Craig recently retired from the US Naval Reserves after over thirty years of active and reserve military service, including four years active duty in the Navy, two years with the Connecticut National Guard in Manchester, nine months of active duty in Central Europe from 1996-1997, and over twenty years reserve duty as an intelligence analyst. LCDR Minor concluded his military career with a tour of duty with NCIS in Newport, RI.
Craig is married to the former Laura Schlesinger of Rutherford, New Jersey and is the father of Bristol Eastern High School graduate Natalie Minor who recently graduated from Boston University and is employed by Facebook in Palo Alto, CA.
